Ferdinand-Vandry Pavilion lab named for health hero, thanks to contribution from Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life
Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life recognize the importance of learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and access to state-of-the-art practical training for future health professionals.
Through their national corporate citizenship program, the companies have contributed $100,000 to Laval University's Projet Santé. Funding to the University’s Integrated Preventative Health Care Education programs is recognized at the entrance outside a laboratory for medical residents that bears the name of Jacques Brunet, designated as a health hero by Laval University.
Brunet has had a decisive influence on the organization of medical research in Quebec, particularly in the Laval University network. He has distinguished himself through his creativity in all the professional roles as Faculty of Medicine professor, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs of Quebec, and Director of the CHUL (Laval University Hospital Centre).
Laval University has adopted an innovative policy to acknowledge donors to Projet Santé. Recognizing the increasingly rigorous needs of health professionals for independence in relation to corporations, the various sections of the new Ferdinand-Vandry Pavilion integrated health sciences training complex will be named for people who have left their mark in the field of health.
